Assistant Croatian Foreign Minister Darko Bekic said Einaudi had
taken office in Croatia in 1992 at the most difficult time in the
country's modern history.
He pointed out the nuncio's contribution in preparing four
agreements signed by Croatia and the Holy See.
Einaudi's activities were crucial for the pope's third pastoral
visit to Croatia this June, Bekic said.
