The project is part of a Norwegian-Croatian geodetic computer
project CRONO GIP that will enable the Geodetic Administration to
speed up the process of vectorisation, i.e. to transform 57,000
cadastre plans that exist in Croatia into digital format, the
principle of the Croatian Geodetic Administration Zeljko Bacic
said on Wednesday. He reminded that the majority of cadastral books
date back to the Austro-Hungarian Empire and are mostly on paper
which does not satisfy contemporary needs.
The value of the entire project is 16.5 million kuna (EUR2.18
million). Croatia is participating with seven million while Norway
donated 9.5 million to Croatia for this purpose.
Norway's Ambassador to Croatia Knut Torassen was pleased that his
homeland was involved in this project to digitalise cadastral books
and plans in Croatia which would certainly enhance investments in
the country.
