ZRNOVNICA, May 5 (Hina) - The US Ambassador to Croatia, Lawrence Rossin, on Monday handed to officials of a primary school at Zrnovnica near Split a cheque for US$120,000, intended for the removal of mines from an area of some 50,000
square metres in the vicinity of the school, formerly an army barracks.
ZRNOVNICA, May 5 (Hina) - The US Ambassador to Croatia, Lawrence
Rossin, on Monday handed to officials of a primary school at
Zrnovnica near Split a cheque for US$120,000, intended for the
removal of mines from an area of some 50,000 square metres in the
vicinity of the school, formerly an army barracks. #L#
Rossin said that the money was donated by the US government and the
Amway company.
So far, the US government has invested more than 40 million dollars
in mine removal projects in Croatia, Rossin said.
The US Ambassador donated 200 books in English to the school
library.
