Arthur expressed interest in the possibility of investing in
Croatia, its legal system, which he said was crucial for the
development of a country's finances, and the preparation of
Croatia's economy for European Union access, the economy ministry
said in a statement.
Arthur is heading a British delegation in Croatia until May 14.
Jurcic acquainted the Briton with the economy ministry's
activities in connection with the possibility and promotion of
investing and exports, the creation of better legal provisions for
companies' business, and privatisation.
Jurcic also informed Arthur about the course of Croatia's drawing
closer to the EU, last year's economic growth of 5.2 percent, the
five percent growth of gross domestic product expected this year,
and other macroeconomic indicators.
Croatia's economy could be ready for EU entry within a year, Jurcic
said.
