Stating that he came as a representative of an international
financial centre, Arthur said the City of London was increasingly
interested in Croatia, which he added was being viewed as a logical
partner in the region.
Arthur said international capital was interested in investing,
especially in infrastructure projects, and added the willingness
to invest in Croatia would depend on how welcome and safe it would be
here.
Mesic applauded the intention to invest in Croatia, stating that to
date investments focused on banks, insurance companies and
profitable hotels, leaving investing in production far behind.
Attending the talks were Mesic's advisors on foreign affairs and
economy, Tomislav Jakic and Dubravko Radosevic respectively, and
the British Ambassador to Croatia, Nicholas Jarrold.
