competitiveness focusing on ways to increase the competitiveness
of Croatia's economy began on the Brijuni Islands on Saturday. #L#
Debates focus on the state's role in said process, the advantages
and shortcomings of Croatia's economy in the world context, and the
role of education in the achievement of faster development and a
higher standard.
Opening the event, Istria County prefect Ivan Jakovcic said this
was the first time that editors and columnists of the most
influential media were equal participants in such an event
alongside officials of the executive authority and leading
businessmen.
The workshop was organised by the Croatian Competitiveness
Initiative and the U.S. Agency for International Development.
