After two instances of deliberation, the Gospic County Court did
not accept a request to remand Rozic, so the prosecution again filed
an appeal with the Supreme Court.
"Rozic is indicted on 14 counts of criminal acts of planting
explosives under the homes of Serb returnees to Lika from 1996
through 1998 -- placing lives in danger by dangerous acts or means,"
said the president of the Gospic County Court trial chamber, Pavo
Rukavina.
More than 20 witnesses will be heard in the Rozic trial during the
main hearing scheduled for early June, said Rukavina.
On March 24, Rozic was acquitted in the trial of the so-called
Gospic Group indicted of war crimes against civilians in the Gospic
area in the autumn of 1991. He was released from detention.
That same day, custody was requested for Rozic in an investigation
process led by the Gospic court since last September on suspicion
that he had planted explosives under the houses of Serb returnees.
