The field research was conducted across the country between 8 and 17
March by the International Republican Institute (IRI), in
cooperation with the Puls agency. The method used in the research
was at-home interview, which was conducted with 1,700 citizens.
Seventy-three percent of respondents said a change of authority
would be desirable, but researchers say this does not necessarily
mean they would vote for the opposition.
In the event of a parliamentary election, 22% of those who said they
would go to the polls would vote for the HDZ, 13% would vote for the
Social Democrats, 10% would vote for the Croatian Peasant Party and
nine percent would vote for the Croatian People's Party. Other
parties received less than the five percent of votes required to
enter the parliament.
Seventy-one percent of undecided respondents said they would like
to vote, but did not trust any party, while 26% had several options
but could not decide on one.
