"We understand the American people's sensitivity about terrorist
attacks because they happened to us as well. If in 1991 the
international community had been willing to stop Slobodan
Milosevic with a military intervention... four wars - against
Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo - could have been
avoided. If only there had been determination and will, a limited
intervention would have removed Milosevic from power," Sanader
said.
The HDZ is not for war, it understands the Pope's stands and prays
for peace, but if a military intervention can prevent a much worse
tragedy and evil, the party supports it, Sanader said, adding that
the incumbent authorities were incapable of protecting and
articulating national interests.
