The Democratic Party of the slain premier Zoran Djindjic on Sunday
nominated Zoran Zivkovic, a party vice president, as future
premier, while Cedomir Jovanovic, who has so far been the whip of
the DOS coalition bench in the Serbian parliament, has been named to
the post of a vice premier.
Deputies of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) of Vojislav
Kostunica did not appear at today's session in Belgrade. Kostunica,
the president of the former Yugoslav federation, on Monday said
that his party would not support Zivkovic's nomination for the new
premier-designate of Serbia, and added that he was in a favour of "a
concentration government" which would include representatives of
parliamentary parties but also of some non-parliamentary parties.
