by a majority vote a proposal by the Social Liberals (HSLS) on the
annulment of the ratified Croatia-Slovenia agreement on the Krsko
nuclear power plant, which is owned jointly by the two countries.
Deputies adopted a motion by the Croatian Peasant Party (HSS) that

the agreement. #L#
Seventy-one deputies voted against the HSLS motion, 41 voted for,
while three abstained.
The Sabor adopted conclusions motioned by the HSS, according to
which the parliament does not accept any obligations in the
implementation of the agreement which may arise from Article 3 of
Slovenia's law on the ratification of the deal (concerning
deadlines for the storage of radioactive waste).
The conclusions bind the government to request from Slovenia an
integral and consistent implementation of the agreement and the
payment within 60 days of damages which have resulted from the non-
implementation of the 30 June 2002 Krsko deal.
In case this is not done, the government is obliged to initiate
arbitration or some other procedure to protect Croatian
interests.
Today's vote on the HSLS motion marked the end of the 30th
parliamentary sitting which lasted three weeks.
