The free trade agreement has been in force since January 1, 2001,
which has resulted in a significant increase in trade between the
two countries. In 2001, trade with Bosnia totalled USD687 million,
while in 2002, it rose to $870 million. Last year, Croatia exported
$704 million-worth of goods to the neighbouring country while
imports from Bosnia totalled $166 million. This makes Bosnia one of
the few countries with which Croatia has high trade surplus.
Bosnia is fifth on the list of Croatia's trade partners, accounting
for 5.6 percent of its foreign trade. In 2002 it was Croatia's
second most important foreign trade partner with a share of 14% in
overall trade.
