At the start of the sitting the amendments were supported by 62 MPs
of the ruling coalition, 50 opposition MP voted against, while
eight members of parliament, including those of the Croatian
People's Party bench, abstained from voting.
Even though the majority of benches did not support the amendments
during last week's debate, the ruling majority endorsed the bill
and forwarded it to the government which is to draft the final text
of the law.
Also adopted was a decision of the economy committee to urge the
government to continue tripartite negotiations with social
partners on adjusting the regulations of the moved amendments.
An electoral bill moved by the Social Democrats and a bill of
amendment to the electoral law moved by Zlatko Kramaric of the
Liberal Party and Damir Kajin of the Istrian Democratic Assembly
was included in the agenda of the 30th session.
Along with motions by the Democratic Centre and the Croatian
Peasant Party, another four electoral bills are in the
parliamentary procedure.
Parliament will resume its session with a debate on the final bill
on state support.
