Tomcic said this after today's session of the parliamentary
presidency which focused on the 29th parliament sitting, called for
January 22. The session should last three weeks.
The parliament head told reporters that considering a large number
of laws to be adopted this year regarding Croatia's joining the
European Union, parliament officials were considering the
establishment of a new committee which would discuss and adjust all
bills regarding this issue.
The agenda of the next parliament session for now comprises about 50
items, including a family, marriage and common-law marriage bill
and a bill on protection against domestic violence.
Parliament should also discuss a report of the State Audit Office on
the transformation and privatisation process.
MPs should also voice their opinion on a draft strategy for
Croatia's development called "Croatia in the 21st Century -
Science".
The agenda also includes a bill on consumer protection and
amendments to the law on traffic safety.
Parliament should ratify a series of bilateral agreements.
