"Cooperation in this region is inevitable. Southeast European
countries are a constituent part of the world and one day we will
have to prove that we are ready to act in line with certain European
standards," Tomcic told the daily.
"I am confident that the two countries' relation will be stabilised
in the near future in the sense of defining the way of the function
of the Serbia and Montenegro after which conditions will be created
for the solving of open issues - succession, border and other
issues. The temporary regime on Prevlaka is a good example," Tomcic
said.
The Croatian parliament president said the issue of the return of
tenancy rights to Serb refugees was of a complicated nature and that
despite the international community's pressure the return of
tenancy rights would not be possible but the problem would have to
be solved through "certain transitional solutions".
