late Wednesday evening and called on the benches to secure quorum.

If there is no quorum parliament will have to convene tomorrow as
well, Tomcic said during a debate on a new stand-by deal with the
International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The details of the resolution parliament has to vote on are already
known. The document was drawn up by representatives of all
benches.
Acknowledging the suggestions made during today's debate, the
resolution would urge the government to submit Croatia's
application for membership in the EU, which will be a strategic
national interest, by the end of February.
As for the new agreement with the IMF, MPs of the ruling coalition
and the opposition are divided as to whether Croatia needs one. The
coalition MPs say it does, while those of the opposition think a new
deal is unnecessary and that the IMF demands some things it should
not. As examples, they cited the labour act, and reduced severance
pays and dismissal notices.
