ZAGREB, Jan 11 (Hina) - Without the Liberal Party (LS) there can be

Kramaric said liberal parties, as a respectable political force,
needed to be reinforced and act together. He stated it was not
possible for not one liberal party to enter parliament.
The LS is not advocating divisions to the right and the left, but
such an organisation of the political scene that will give room to
the quiet civil majority, he said.
Responding to criticisms by some party members provoked by his
talks with Drazen Budisa, Kramaric said they had discussed the
current situation, not future relations, as the electoral law was
still not known.
"The situation is not good, but it is challenging. These elections
are very important because they will define Croatia's political
landscape for a long time," Kramaric said.
The party's head committee will subsequently issue a statement
about the conclusions of today's closed session. The session is
part of preparations for party elections to be held on January 25,
when party deputies will elect the new president from among Zlatko
Kramaric, Bozo Kovacevic and Ivo Banac. On that date, the party will
mark its fifth anniversary.
