Unofficial sources have said the coalition partners might also
discuss some current issues, such as the electoral law and the
privatisation of the "Suncani Hvar" hotel. The coalition partners
have not been able to agree about the sale of the hotel to Slovenia's
Terme Catez.
The coalition, made up of six parties (Social Democratic Party,
Croatian Social Liberal Party, Croatian Peasants Party, Croatian
People's Party, Liberal Party and Istrian Democratic Assembly) won
in parliamentary elections on January 3, 2000. In the meantime, the
Istrian Democratic Assembly and the Social Liberals have left the
group, while Libra, a newly-founded party established by
disgruntled members of the Croatian Social Liberal Party, made its
way into the coalition.
