Non-participation in the strike does not mean the adoption of a
government's decision on increasing wages only to teachers in
elementary and high schools, excluding non-teaching staff,
Preporod said.
The most important, but not the only reason why Preporod decided not
to go on strike is the assessment that it cannot be organised well in
the time of winter holidays.
Preporod supports the unions which will participate in the strike
and believes the government's threats that days spent on strike
will not be paid are unacceptable.
Also unacceptable is the comparison of the work of maintenance and
other non-teaching staff in schools and in other public
institutions, because the work of non-teaching staff in schools in
more difficult because of the direct and indirect work with
children, Preporod said in a statement.
