ZAGREB, Jan 9 (Hina) - Unions must not allow the government to

the president of the Association of Workers' Unions of Croatia,
Boris Kunst, said. #L#
In his opinion, changes to the labour legislation are aimed at
reducing workers' rights, which is the result of International
Monetary Fund pressures under which the government has yielded.
The general strike to be organised by all union federations is only
a possible measure, Kunst said.
Union federations' heads will meet on Monday to try and reach an
agreement on a single policy towards the government in order to
prevent the adoption of the announced changes, which they claim
radically reduce workers' rights.
