As long as there are no assurances for better social security of
workers and speedier labour disputes and until a fund for
guaranteed salaries and adequate unemployment compensation is
established, the SSSH cannot give the green light for cuts in
severance pays and the duration of period of notice or for the
introduction of indefinite temporary employment, read a statement
released by this federation.
To meet the IMF's requests means to change the Labour Law to the
benefit of those who are stronger on the labour market and to the
benefit of capital, while workers' rights and interests are
neglected, it added.
On the labour market, burdened with a 17-percent unemployment rate,
it is unacceptable to allow additional limitation of workers'
rights, given that fundamental rights, such as the right to work and
payment for the work, have already been severely infringed, the
statement read.
The SSSH will agree with other union federations on further moves in
this field.
