ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - The Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina (DSHV) has voiced concern over articles in some Serbian newspapers in which some senior Serbian officials are blamed for "being not only ethnic Croats but also Catholics".

Commenting on the article headlined "Branka Prpa Pardons NATO Killers", which was run in the 20 December issue of the Belgrade-based Nacional paper, the DSHV said on Tuesday it was concerned that the article had not triggered off greater response from the public.

The article was directed against the director of the historical archives of Belgrade, Branka Prpa, and "Roman Catholics employed in the highest structures of Serbia".

So far, the Serbian Culture Minister, Dragan Kojadinovic, and the leader of the Independent Association of Journalists in Serbia (NUNS), Nebojsa Bugarinovic, have condemned the article.

The DSHV also commented on legal action which the Radio and Television of Novi Sad took against journalist Dusica Dulic and producer Zvonimir Perusic accusing them of "spreading misinformation that incites hatred between the majority people and members of the (minority) Croat community".

Reporter Dulic and producer Perusic recently complained that the leadership of that television station had refused without any official explanation to air the only TV broadcast in the Croatian language "Tragom hrvatskim" on 17 October. This was the fourth time for the RT Novi Sad to ban of the only TV show in Croatian.

The DSHV urges judicial authorities in Serbia to respond to such events which "do great damage to the reputation of the country and cause fear among citizens".
