He added that senior officials of Serbia and Montenegro would continue holding talks on the matter in the coming days.
Marovic said that participants in the last night's meeting had agreed that in 2005 they "will do nothing which can bring into question the legitimacy of the institutions of the state union" and that they would work on the Europeanization of Serbia-Montenegro.
A few days ago, the Serbian parliament adopted a law on the election of deputies to the Serbia-Montenegrin parliament, while the parliament in Montenegro has not yet taken a position on the matter.
Under the constitutional charter of the state-union, the direct elections for its parliament should be held in 2005. The ruling coalition in Montenegro, however, insists that the parliamentary elections at the level of the state union should be organised after a referendum on independence of Montenegro. Under the charter, it is possible to organise the referendum in February 2006 at the earliest.
