Montenegro PresidentSvetozar Marovic, sources from Brussels reported on Tuesday.
BRUSSELS, Dec 14 (Hina) - The European Union strongly supports the
state union of Serbia and Montenegro, European Union High Representative for
the Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana has said at a meeting with
Serbia and Montenegro President Svetozar Marovic, sources from Brussels
reported on Tuesday.Solana said in a statement which was forwarded to Hina that the
Stabilisation and Association Agreement was aimed at accelerating progress
towards the EU and giving Serbia and Montenegro another opportunity.
The High Representative said that all outstanding issues between the two
states must be solved through dialogue.
He reiterated that cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal
for the former Yugoslavia was critical for Serbia and Montenegro's drawing
closer to the EU.
Speaking about Kosovo, Solana underlined the necessity for a
constructive dialogue.
