Serbia and Montenegro's diplomats have welcomed Croatian Prime Minister Ivo Sanader's decision, expressing hope that temporary suspension would become permanent, the daily reports.
The daily quotes Croatia's Ambassador to Belgrade, Tonci Stanicic, as saying that there is a chance for the visa regime between the two countries to be completely revoked.
"Announcing the latest suspension of the visa regime, Prime Minister Sanader expressed hope in that regard. However, this is not only up to Croatia. There are certain moves which Serbia and Montenegro is expected to make, such as the withdrawal of the army from the border," Stanicic said.
The Croatian government last Thursday decided to suspend the visa regime for citizens of Serbia and Montenegro until December 31, 2005.
