During the talks with the Chinese delegation, Mesic reiterated that Croatia supported a unified China, and noted that the two countries had excellent relations at all levels.
Mesic said that further efforts should be made to boost economic ties between China and Croatia, adding that China could use Croatian seaports and highways to access the European market.
Wuyungimuge said that Mesic's visit to China in 2002 had contributed to the development of friendship and cooperation between the two countries. "The joint declaration on the promotion of friendship between China and Croatia, which you signed then, has become a basis for the further development of our two countries," she added.
Mesic took the opportunity to invite the Chinese president to visit Croatia.
The Turkish ambassador was presented with a high Croatian decoration, the Order of Prince Branimir, for his outstanding contribution to the development of friendly relations and cooperation between Croatia and Turkey, the statement said.
