The talks focused on Vukelic's forthcoming visit to China, which is scheduled to take place from November 8 to 12. Vukelic expressed hope that his visit would help improve economic relations between the two countries.
The two officials said that economic relations between Croatia and China had been developing very fast over the past few years and that there was a lot of room for further strengthening economic cooperation.
"China is a large market which has potential, and there is room for Croatian commodities and services on the Chinese market," Vukelic said.
Vukelic is due to visit Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong and hold several meetings with senior Chinese officials and representatives of economic institutions.
During the visit, the joint Croatian-Chinese Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation will hold its eighth session.
In addition to officials from the Ministry of the Economy, the Croatian delegation will also include representatives of the Foreign Ministry, the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Association of Exporters, the Association of Employers and the Rijeka Port Authority, the statement said.
