BANJA LUKA, Nov 4 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Interior Minister Darko Matijasevic has announced that the results of cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal will be visible soon.

"I am sure that we will have results very soon. Republika Srpska has made efforts to resolve the difficult and complex issue of cooperation with the Hague tribunal, and I will continue those efforts," Matijasevic said in an interview with the Banja Luka-based newspaper Nezavisne Novine published on Thursday.

"Within the scope of its competence and in cooperation with other agencies in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Bosnian Federation Interior Ministry, the State Border Service, Interpol, the Ministry of Security, representatives of the international community and our colleagues in Serbia and Montenegro, the Interior Ministry of Republika Srpska will prepare the best possible environment that will produce concrete results," the minister said.

Matijasevic said that cooperation between the Bosnian Serb authorities and the Hague tribunal would be primarily manifested in the arrest of persons indicted for war crimes.

Matijasevic was appointed Interior Minister two months ago after the international community"s High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, Paddy Ashdown, had fired Zoran Djeric and 50 other officials for obstructing efforts to arrest indicted war criminals.
