HDZ DISMISSES ARTICLE IN NACIONAL WEEKLY

ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) on Tuesdaydismissed an article in the latest issue of Nacional weekly headlined"Hebrang Walks Out After Announcement of (Presidential) Candidate",stating that it "contains a number of untruths about the allegeddisagreement of HDZ Presidency member Andrija Hebrang with the party'schoice of the presidential candidate".
ZAGREB, Oct 19 (Hina) - The Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) on Tuesday dismissed an article in the latest issue of Nacional weekly headlined "Hebrang Walks Out After Announcement of (Presidential) Candidate", stating that it "contains a number of untruths about the alleged disagreement of HDZ Presidency member Andrija Hebrang with the party's choice of the presidential candidate".

Contrary to the claims made in the article, Andrija Hebrang was the first to support presidential candidate Jadranka Kosor after her nomination was announced by party president Ivo Sanader, and the HDZ National Committee fully supported the nomination as well, the party said in a statement.

It dismissed the article as untrue and prejudiced, claiming that the weekly was obviously supporting the candidacy of incumbent President Stjepan Mesic.
