OSIJEK, Oct 3 (Hina) - Liberal Party (LS) vice president Zlatko
Kramaric said in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek on Sunday that a possible
unification of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), the LS and the Libra party
would mean the creation of a new political entity which would preserve within
itself a liberal-democratic component. He stressed, however, that outvoting
must be prevented in negotiations.Asked to comment on a recent statement by deputy Antun Kapraljevic of
the HNS that the three party should not be unified but that the LS and Libra
should join the HNS, Kramaric said: "If we start thinking like that then it
would be better if we didn't even start doing this. Outvoting must be prevented
and the confederal approach must be the starting point for talks."
Asked to comment on the invitation by Croatian Social Liberal Party
(HSLS) leaders to the party's former members to return, Kramaric said the HSLS
must get rid of its image as the clone of the Croatian Democratic Union.
