A final decision on the unification will be made at conventions of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), the Liberal Party (LS) and Libra, that will be held by 15 November.
If the conventions approve the unification, the president of the new party will be the HNS chief Vesna Pusic, while vice presidents will be Ivo Banac of the LS and Jozo Rados of Libra.
The name of the new party will be the HNS- Liberal Democrats.
Commenting on possible opposition from his party, the LS president Banac said that the LS negotiating team was authorised to make decisions on the unification and "we shall fight for that decision in all bodies of the party".
Vesna Pusic told reporters that she did not fear that any revolt might erupt in her party as an acceptable compromise had been reached with everybody.
