The minister said that as of today, Croatia was supervising another 30,000 square kilometres of the sea.
Before sailing out, the minister told reporters that the government had founded a task force which then suggested to the government the setting up of a body which would control the ecological and fisheries zone. The body is called the Government's Coordinating Body for the Supervision and Protection of the Fisheries and Ecological Zone,, the minister said and added that members of the body were out in the sea today for the first time.
The Minister said that as of today Croatia was supervising another 30,000 square kilometres of the sea. When we add to that the area Croatia had been supervising so far, we can say that the country is supervisinf 60,000 square kilometres of the sea which is the size of the land part of Croatia, Kalmeta said.
Asked about incidents in Savudrija Bay, Kalmeta said this was a political issue.
