LJUBLJANA, Sept 25 (Hina) - Croatia has made several unilateral moves lately, Slovene President Janez Drnovsek told Slovene Television on Friday evening.

"One of those moves was the unilateral declaration of the Ecological and Fisheries Protection Zone and another is a claim that the land border had already been determined by the Badinter Commission," Drnovsek said.

According to him, the Badinter Commission only said that borders of the former Yugoslav republics be state the borders of the new countries.

"But in some areas the sovereignty of the two countries overlap. It goes without saying that in such situations we must reach an agreement and that one country cannot declare he disputed territory as its own," Drnovsek said, commenting on a recent election rally staged by the Slovene People's Party in the village of Mlini in Buje municipality for which the Slovene government on Thursday said in was on Slovenia's soil.

Speaking about an incident which took place on the Croatian-Slovene border, provoked by 12 Slovene citizens including MP Janez Podobnik, and over which Slovene PM Anton Rop decided to withdraw Slovenia's unconditional support to Croatia on its path to the EU, President Drnovsek said the the treatment of Slovene MP Podobnik was not appropriate and added that Croatia should admit that.
