According to a statement, the indictment was served on Lukic in the presence of his attorney Sinisa Simic.
Indicted generals Lukic, Nebojsa Pavkovic, Vladimir Lazarevic and Vlastimir Djordjevic were called to collect their ICTY indictments at the Belgrade District Court on Monday, September 27, but none of them showed up so a judge ordered the Interior Ministry to arrest them.
Pavkovic's attorney Stevan Protic told Beta news agency on Thursday he did not know whether his client would appear in court and collect the ICTY indictment because he was undergoing medical treatment.
Pavkovic and Lazarevic said on several occasions they would not voluntarily surrender to the Hague tribunal. The fourth indicted general, Vlastimir Djordjevic, fled the country after Slobodan Milosevic lost elections in 2000. He lives in Russia.
