NEW YORK, Sept 22 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Miomir Zuzul held talks with his counterpart from Serbia and Montegro Vuk Draskovic in New York on Tuesday.

During the talks, Zuzul and Draskovic stressed the two countries' support to the development and stabilisation of the region.

Zuzul told Croatian reporters that his talks with Draskovic were part of a number of bilateral meetings which were being held on the margins of the annual session of the UN General Assembly. He said the talks focused on relations between Croatia and Serbia and Montenegro.

Draskovic expressed satisfaction with the meeting with Zuzul and said the talks were open and aimed at the promotion of Croatia-Serbia relations.

According to Zuzul, Draskovic reiterated that Serbia and Montenegro believed that Croatia's model of drawing closer to the EU was the only one which could function for the entire region and that Serbia and Montengro would try to get the same model.

Zuzul said it was agreed in principle that Croatia would support Serbia and Montenegro in the process of drawing closer to the EU.

Commenting on open issues between the two countries, Zuzul said it was agreed that those issue would be solved, but he and Draskovic did not discuss the matter in detail.

Zuzul said that Serbia and Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina would be guest countries at a ministerial meeting of the U.S.-Adriatic Charter which would be held in Zagreb in November.
