ZAGREB, Sept 17 (Hina) - A Norwegian parliamentary delegation, led by Parliament President Joergen Kosmo, on Friday held talks with the chairmen of the Croatian parliament's committees on foreign affairs, inter-parliamentary cooperation, and finances and the state budget, the Sabor's public relations service said in a statement.

Relations between Croatia and Norway are good and there are no outstanding issues between the two countries, which is a good basis for their strengthening, especially in the area of economy, it was said.

Kosmo expressed full support to Croatia's efforts on its path to Euro-Atlantic associations, adding that NATO should remain open to all countries wishing to join it and capable of meeting the set standards.

There are no obstacles on that road for Croatia, the country only has to meet the necessary criteria, the basic ones being political and democratic control of the armed forces and the compatibility of the Croatian army with the armed forces in NATO countries. Norway expects Croatia to be able to meet those conditions in the next two years, Kosmo was quoted as saying.

The chairman of the committee on inter-parliamentary cooperation, Milorad Pupovac, thanked Norway for the continued humanitarian support, the statement said.
