ZAGREB, Sept 6 (Hina) - Parliament President Vladimir Seks on Monday announced a very dynamic and busy autumn and winter in the parliament.

Briefing reporters about the forthcoming sitting of the parliament, from September 15 to October 15, Seks said the session would begin with question time and discussions on a set of bills referring to the ratification of various international and bilateral treaties, government-sponsored bills sent for urgent discussion, and draft bills that have to be adjusted to European Union standards.

Also discussed will be a memorandum on the government's economic and financial policy, at the request of the Social Democrats and the Croatian Party of Rights and in connection with the approval of the latest International Monetary Fund arrangement, Seks said.

Speaking of the adjustment of domestic legislation to EU standards, he said this year alone parliament had adopted 10 of the 43 laws that have to be passed.

According to today's announcements, parliament's autumn sitting should begin with three novelties -- electronic voting will finally become operational, MPs will have to switch off their mobile phones during sessions, and they will be able to relax by engaging in fitness activities during breaks.

Seks welcomed the proposal by Parliament Vice President and Croatia People's Party MP Vesna Pusic that a place be found in the parliament building where fitness activities could be organised.
