The two ministers met at the Hungarian Embassy in Berlin. Berlin is
hosting a two-day conference on Europe's future, which was organised
by the Bertelsmann Foundation.
The two ministers expressed satisfaction with bilateral relations,
especially in the area of economy. Kovacs said that his country's
investments in Croatia totalled 600 million US dollars. The two
officials agreed that isolated problems, such as recent disputes
regarding the import of agricultural products, should not affect
overall relations between the two countries.
The Hungarian official confirmed full support to Croatia's admission
into NATO and the EU by 2007 and promised his country's support in the
process.
Kovacs invited Zuzul to pay an official visit to Hungary, which the
Croatian official accepted. Zuzul conveyed an invitation by Croatian
Prime Minister Ivo Sanader for his Hungarian counterpart Peter
Megyessy to pay an official visit to Croatia, which the Hungarian side
accepted.
