VIENNA, Nov 15 (Hina) - The Croatian Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, met the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mohamed El Baradei, in Vienna on Tuesday for talks on cooperation between Croatia and the Agency.

Grabar-Kitarovic told reporters after the talks that the cooperation between the Agency and Croatia was successful and that El Baradei praised it.

"Croatia is still a net recipient of aid from the IAEA, and we are also doing very important work in terms of technical cooperation," she said.

The Croatian minister said that Croatia had applied for a post on the IAEA Council of Governors for the 2006-2008 period within a group of Eastern European countries. "We hope that our application will be successful and that in that way we will also contribute to the Agency's work."

Grabar-Kitarovic congratulated El Baradei on winning the Nobel Peace Prize for 2005 and invited him to visit Croatia.

Since its admission to the Agency in 1993, Croatia has developed and implemented numerous technical cooperation projects. Croatian experts participate in various Agency missions and activities around the world.

During her day-long visit to Vienna, the Croatian minister is scheduled to address a session of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Permanent Council on progress in the return of refugees, reform processes and regional cooperation.
