Speaking at a news conference, Djukic said that this was an appeal to adopt a joint platform to permanently regulate the position of Croatian Serbs, particularly since the country was on the road to the EU.
He explained that his appeal was prompted by the government's failure to meet its obligations towards the Serb community.
"PM Sanader has made some progress for the sake of Croatia's international position, but the Serb people still live in conditions which are below human dignity," Djukic said, adding that the economy in the majority Serb municipalities was non-existing, that the infrastructure destroyed in the war was being repaired slowly, and that Serbs had difficulty exercising their pension rights.
He also criticised deputies of the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) for losing credibility and legitimacy which he claimed they had sacrificed for their "marriage" to the ruling party.
