"Croatia views the bill as legally unfounded and ineffective," the chairman of the Croatian Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee, Gordan Jandrokovic, told reporters in Zagreb.
He said that the Croatian Parliament fully supported the Croatian Government in the matter and that it would be "closely following developments in Slovenia."
Jandrokovic expressed hope that Slovenia would act to the benefit of good bilateral relations between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Slovene Prime Minister Janez Jansa said in Ljubljana that he had met representatives of all Slovene parliamentary parties and received their full support for a Slovene ecological zone and continental shelf in the Adriatic.
"It has turned out that we not only have a two-third majority but near consensual support and the bill will be adopted," Jansa said.
The Slovene Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee is due to discuss the issue again at a closed door session on Monday.
