ZAGREB, Aug 26 (Hina) - Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS)
Vice-President Djurdja Adlesic said on Friday that the Croatian government
should reject a political battle of wits with Slovenia and make it clear that
the current sea border dispute should be dealt with exclusively in accordance
with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. "It should be made
clear who wants a solution based on international law and who is in favour of
politically outsmarting the other party," Adlesic told a news conference.
She said that by declaring a continental shelf and an ecological zone
in the Adriatic Slovenia aimed to strengthen its position ahead of
international arbitration.
"Croatia should make no political or territorial concessions just
because it needs Slovene support for admission to the European Union," Adlesic
stressed.
