THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Ranko Cesic, convictedby the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia(ICTY) or war crimes against local Croats and Muslims (Bosniaks) innorth-eastern Bosnian city of
Brcko, was transferred to Denmark onTuesday to serve his 18-year sentence, the tribunal reported.
THE HAGUE/ZAGREB, April 12 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Ranko Cesic,
convicted by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia
(ICTY) or war crimes against local Croats and Muslims (Bosniaks) in
north-eastern Bosnian city of Brcko, was transferred to Denmark on Tuesday to
serve his 18-year sentence, the tribunal reported. Cesic is "the
first ICTY person convicted and sentenced by the ICTY to be transferred to
Denmark to serve his sentence. Seventeen other individuals are currently
serving their sentences in other states," the tribunal reported.
Four convicts are in Spain, three in Norway, two in Finland, Germany
and Austria each, and one in Italy, France, Great Britain and Sweden each.
