Marcinko was sentenced in July 2003 by decision of the Supreme Court, which increased his initial sentence following an appeal by the prosecution to the Zagreb County Court's verdict sentencing him to a year in prison.
A year later, the Supreme Court also increased the sentence of Marko Marcinko, Krunoslav Marcinko's father and owner of Glumina Banka, which lost 14.7 million kuna due to the said wrongdoings. Marko Marcinko, who had been initially sentenced to four years in prison, was sentenced to seven years in prison.
President Mesic also reduced the sentences of another 11 convicts, one convict was freed from serving his sentence, and another two were rehabilitated. The amnesty pleas of another 50 convicts were turned down.
