This measure has been proposed to the War Crimes Council after the Serbia and Montenegro council for cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal adopted a conclusion on freezing the assets of the accused who have not surrendered to the UN court, the deputy spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office for War Crimes, Jasna Jankovic, told Belgrade's Radio B92.
She said it was not necessary to adopt a special law to freeze the assets because this was Serbia and Montenegro's obligation under measures adopted by the European Union.
