In a statement to the press, Vujanovic and Rupel expressed satisfaction with the quality of bilateral relations, which they said had not existed until now.
Vujanovic informed Rupel, the current chair of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), about Montenegro's proposal for a union of independent states of Serbia and Montenegro. He said that the current union of Serbia and Montenegro called for reorganisation from the aspect of functioning and costs.
Rupel and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic discussed the same topic and concluded that the OSCE was expected to contribute significantly to efforts to define the status of Montenegro.
Rupel told reporters that Montenegro needed a national consensus on its priorities, primarily relations with Serbia.
The Slovene foreign minister on Monday held talks with Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Serbia and Montenegro's Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic.
