The aim of the workshop is to promote cooperation through the exchange of data on the implementation of international legal instruments for the suppression of terrorism, corruption and transnational organised crime.
Opening the workshop, Croatian Justice Minister Vesna Skare Ozbolt said that terrorism, organised crime and corruption posed the biggest threats to the international community today. Croatia is firmly committed to the suppression of such forms of crime, and has ratified a majority of relevant international conventions, she said.
The Zagreb workshop has pooled representatives of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Serbia-Montenegro, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia as well as representatives of the Council of Europe, the European Union Council of Ministers, the European Commission, Interpol, the OSCE and some other international institutions.
