Sanader and the unionists discussed a wage policy agreement, a national development plan and action plans for employment in 2005.
The premier informed the union federations' leaders of the current situation in the relations between Croatia and the European Union.
"There is agreement that Croatia should become a part of European Union integration processes as this is the only way for Croatia to achieve its prosperity and the prosperity of its citizens," Sanader said after the meeting, adding that he hoped the obstacles that resulted in a short break on this path would soon be removed.
Asked by reporters why the National Security Council did not convene after the EU decided to postpone the accession negotiations with Croatia, Sanader answered that the Council would hold a meeting next week.
After the talks with the unionists, Sanader told reporters that the economy ministry had been ordered to define rules for the formation of prices of fuel so as to prevent their frequent changes.
