The county assembly today made Prodi the first honorary citizen of Istria.
Jakovcic told the press after the meeting Mesic and Prodi discussed cooperation between Croatia and Italy, European association, and the world's biggest crisis areas.
Mesic and Prodi agreed the recent postponement of Croatia's European Union entry negotiations was not good either for Croatia or the Union, Jakovcic said.
He added Prodi pledged he would continue to do everything so that Croatia could join the Union as soon as possible.
