He told a press conference the Croatian Interior Ministry was helped in the process by foreign partners focusing on police reform, regional and international police cooperation, human trafficking, and the Police in the Community project.
The OSCE has a very important role in all the reforms the Croatian police have been implementing to meet European Union standards, said deputy police chief Jakob Bukvic.
He added cooperation was especially good in the Police in the Community project, which last year led to Croatia taking over the role of mentor in the implementation of the project in the other countries of the region.
The press were briefed about cooperation with the OSCE Mission in the application of international standards and last week's visit of a police delegation to Lincolnshire in Great Britain, where Croatian police specialised in the enforcement of the police in the community strategy.
